Back to “Real Beer”
If you’ve hit the local bars this week there is a good chance you were at one of about twenty Guinness sponsored St. Patty’s events. So now that you’re green beer hangover is gone (if you’re lucky) and you’ve had your fill of Guinness, here are five stouts that you need to try.
Murphy’s Irish Stout:
Ireland’s other stout. Murphy’s offers a thick, fluffy head and roasted bitterness that leads to a clean dry finish.
Bell’s Kalamazoo Stout:
A beautifully jet black stout brewed in Michigan, hit you with the aroma of roasted malt and a licorice-like flavor with a hint of bittersweet chocolate.
Rogue’s Shakespeare Stout:
This coal colored stout has a thick chocolate colored head and flavor. Imagine a coffeehouse mocha turned beer.
Sierra Nevada Stout:
Sierra’s stout providing a creamy body with a toasted bitterness and a faint hint of hops.
Left Hand’s Milk Stout:
An AtMyBar favorite. With the addition lactose, Left Hand’s stout is smooth and creamy with just a touch of chocolate. If you love to drink stouts, at just over 5% abv, this is your session beer.
